BD Diesel: Throttle Sensitivity Booster Updates
We’ve tested a number of BD Diesel’s throttle sensitivity boosters here at Premier and if there was ever any room for improvement, it was with the ease of adjustment. BD has recently released an updated list of applications that are now available with push button adjustment for the level of desired sensitivity. Bill Knighton in tech sales has used the BD throttle sensitivity booster on both the new EcoDiesel Ram and currently on the 2015 Ram 2500 Cummins. “I really like having the increased sensitivity and don’t ever feel like I have to “mash” the throttle to get going.” That was the main complaint in performance with my 2014 Ram 2500 as well. Coming up to yellow lights were always questionable because I’d often mash the throttle and wasn’t getting any more momentum until it was too late.
Installation of the BD units take less than 5 minutes. Disconnect the battery and plug the throttle sensitivity booster in series with the pedal position sensor. Mount the box out of the way and you’re good to go. With the new addition of the push button adjustment, BD has also added three additional levels of sensitivity. Where the old boosters had 50% boost and 100% boost, there is now a 75% boost, a valet mode that reduces response by 50% (good for those with teenagers at home), and ludicrous mode that ads a 400% boost to your throttle sensitivity. That last one is for you precognitive’s out there and isn’t for the faint of heart.
The latest application of the throttle sensitivity booster also come in a smaller compact module, making it a bit easier to get out of the way and still install with the factory connections. Another advantage of this modification is that your not increasing fuel consumption while eliminating that annoying pedal lag and there is no tampering with emissions control systems. We’ve said it before but throttle sensitivity boosters is one of the best bangs for your customers buck when it comes to noticeable performance enhancements. It’s the gateway mod and is available for a large number of gas and diesel applications.
